Toyota pressroom announced last Feb 8, 2010 that it will undergo voluntary safety recall of approximately 133,000 units of Prius vehicles with 2010 Model Year and 14,500 units Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS). No other Toyota, Lexus, or Scion vehicles are involved in this recall. According to Toyota Philippines over a radio interview, the Toyota vehicle assembled in that United States are affected not only those manufactures for units assembled here in Asia.

We condemned the Maguindanao massacre which brought 57 innocent people dead. To think that most of them are members of media. At least 34 journalists were known to have died while others are supporters and family members of well known families in Maguindanao who were supposed to submit her husband’s certificate of candidacy as he would be running for governor of Maguindanao.

Sea Tragedy

Another sea tragedy took place again. This time, it involves one of the passenger ships of SuperFerry. The SupperFerry 9 sank in Zamboanga Penensula losing the lives of 837 passengers  and 112 crew on board. According to the news it recorded only nine passenger deaths but still it is a big blow to sea farer industry in the country. President Gloria Arroyo World Largest Photo Mosaic

Last April 5, 2009, the Philippines rolled out an attempt to break the world record by unveiling the largest photo mosaic of 180 x 160 foot of the President Gloria M. Arroyo at the Quirino Grandstand in Roxas Blvd.

There were 1000 photographs of the president taken by award-winning photojournalist and mosaic artist Revoli Cortez and it was printed on tarpaulin. The mosaic also features a birthday greeting for the President for her 62nd birthday that day.
