In the past two weeks, a couple of houses near my uncle’s place in Taguig were attacked by thieves “Akyat Bahay” . The first victim was amenable saying that he really didn’t notice those people who got inside his house because he was really drank that night. The last victim really couldn’t explain why they didn’t feel or hear anything inside during the sneaking in of these people. They were just there inside the house sleeping that night. The thieves managed to open the cabinet and were able to get the most valued one. The thieves also managed to get their big television set and other appliances.

According to some stories they believed that this people are spraying something where victims got to sleep tight and will not be able to feel anything. What’s sad is that these victims are also ordinary people and not like the wealthy ones whose houses are equipped with home security systems. They are people who just earn enough and are able to save just to buy this appliances and yet they were still victimized.

I hope the police not only those barangay volunteers in the area will do their share in patrolling their assigned area so that safety, peace and order will be maintained and the stealing will stop.
