Canon Service Center Problems

5 March 2010 9 views No Comment

After two months of long suffering since my Canon DSLR camera had trouble, and after I have brought it to Canon service, I finally had it repaired. It took me more than 30 times of follow up from their call agents.

I am a Canon lover ever since but with this kind of service, sometimes it makes me think about shifting. Imagine the first couple times of follow up. They told me that they are just waiting for the part to come. Then after those follow ups they told me that parts already arrived and they were just waiting for the service man’s feed back. After that I made another couple of follow ups then they told me again that parts are arriving but they were not sure if the needed parts of my camera was one of those. Another call agent told me after a month that my camera was already fixed but it was under observation and calibration and maybe I could have it in a week.

But after a week I followed up again the agent told me that it was still under repair. I told her what the call agent told me a week before that it was already fixed and it was only under observation. But she told me that she will confirmed it first to the service center but because according to her lines are busy she will just log it and told me to inform me as long as she has the latest update after a week.

I made a couple of follow ups again and same reason were given as to why they could not contact the service center because the line was so busy. But what I was asking was if they could call me about the status. Two weeks had passed and I have never heard of them. It seemed like they don’t make any extra effort to contact or make follow up, too.

Many of the photographers prefer Canon because of the availability of their service centers anywhere but if they have this kind of service, sometimes you can’t avoid thinking how to throw your camera away and buy a new brand of camera. Hope they can solved this problem. I already read lots of complaints against their service centers. Hope they can improve this.
