Boxers Insurance

18 February 2010 1 views No Comment

It is not new anymore to hear or read some reports about boxers who did not have a better life at the end of their career. Some are suffering from disability or even die in the ring. Like what happened to Z Gorres for example. He is now recovering after a life threatening operation due to suffering a subdural hematoma. Gorres collapsed in the ring at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada November 13, 2009 although he won his bantam weight bout against Luis Melendez but he will never come out again in the ring to fight.

The worse thing is that he accumulated thousands of dollars in debt for his hospital bills that even his insurance is not enough. Adding to the lifetime medicines and therapy he will be taking for life. His maintenance medicine is not like acne medicine. I am sure this is expensive and who will shoulder these expenses? He is lucky if his manager and our government can shoulder them.
