Haiti Relief

Rescue and recovery are now on going for more than a week after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti. It is believed that more than three million were affected which recorded more than 2,000,000 deaths. Although according to some reports, rescue and recovery are already halted in some buildings that had collapsed. It is believed that there are no lives already present. But still, recovery is still present in some areas.

Hopefully rescue authorities will perform proper rescue and recovery with all the proper equipments needed to protect themselves with also. Proper suites like safety gown, disposable shoe covers, breathing apparatus among others help to make things safe. The aftermath danger will not be felt for now but the long term health hazards of this must be prevented. Take what had happened to hundreds of rescue personnel during the 9-11 twin tower tragedy who suffered from cancer because of asbestos hazards. I know the only thing in the minds of those rescuers right now is to save more lives.
