Types of Cancer and Treatment

Every day, more and more people die of cancer and even people in the limelight are not spared. Prominent people, celebrities and even an ordinary citizen can be a victim of this deadly disease.

The latest one as of this writing, Former President of the Philippines and the mother of democracy Corazon C. Aquino died last Saturday after a great fight from colon cancer. The death of Farrah Faucett American actress, multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee and a sex symbol during 70’2-80’s last month is also due to anal cancer. They are just among the many well known people who died because of cancer.

There are lots of cancer types nowadays from breast cancer to malignant Mesothelioma and from almost any part of the body cancer. Cancer also affects people at all ages, and now even fetuses are part of the statistics.

According to the study, cancer causes about 13% of all human death and 7.6 million people die of cancer in the world during 2007 according to the American Cancer Society. What causes cancer can differ widely in their causes and it depends on what cancer you already have. Even those who practice healthy living sometimes cannot avoid this kind of disease.

Cancer can be treated by surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy or other methods although even with of these, people continue to die.

Hopefully people will soon to learn more knowledge on prevention of rather than cure of cancer.
