People March in Cory’s Burial

There is no doubt that someday, former President Aquino will become one of our national heroes with all the people joining her on her funeral corteges. People are still arguing if those people seen during Cory’s funeral matched the same number of people seen in Ninoy’s burial.

For me it is out of the question wheither she matched it or not but the question is if someone out there will die and be laid in peace here in Metro Manila in the “Libingan ng mga Bayani,” if the people who will attend can at least reach a quarter or even 1/8 of those who attended Cory’s funeral.

Reports said that an estimate of more than half a million people attended the corteges. If someone out there dies, I am not sure if he or she can gather more than 50 thousand. That is unless you think of those parasite congressmen and congresswomen who always embark of the country trips.

I am sure those who are in government right now know all that had happened yesterday. I wish this could be an inspiration to them that whatever things they have done during the time they are serving people they must serve rightly so that someday they could also have this kind of recognition when they die.

People from all walks of life joined the former president’s family in their mourning. From just ordinary people to the rich, people walked in for more than nine hours together to join those who were just wearing slippers to Dansko shoes just to show their respect to the former president.
