Wedding Exhibits – Wedding Photography

1 March 2009 9 views No Comment

There are wedding exhibits all around the country right now. Maybe because we always consider the month of June as a wedding month although I think there are a lot more weddings happening in December. I remember few years ago when we were booking for my cousin’s wedding in December, one church was already booked for the next two years, but maybe there are still lots of women want to be call a June bride.

A couple of weeks ago, we attended a wedding exhibit in SM megamall where there were lots of display you could see in the trade hall. You could not even imagine that the world is in recession time. From wedding gowns, groom’s “barong” to tuxedo and tuxedo shirt , entourage gown, wedding caterer, photographer and all your wedding needs, these were all displayed in one venue.

What captured my attention were the wedding photos exhibits in the place. With the ever changing world and technology I could not imagine how Filipino wedding photographers are so creative. I am sure you could see those of your parents’ wedding photos way back in 70’ and 80’s where usually the photographer still used film camera. Even my very own wedding photo in 2002 still used film camera although we could have the film scanned right now but the photographer of today already used digital SLR camera and although there is still some using film camera. Digital camera photos can be enhanced further beyond what the usual photos taken. But as we know you, can get what you paid for. Wedding photographers’ professional fees also vary from P4,000 to as much as P100,000. I even saw a photo and video package that ranges from P100,000-300,000. We can’t blame the photographers because their digital camera, lenses, flash and the whole camera system are also expensive. One photographer also invested hundreds of thousands or even millions for this plus their long years of studies and experience. Because being a good photographer is a continuous study and long experience especially if you are capturing the very special moment of two persons in love and swear in front of our Almighty Father Yahweh to love one another for the rest of their life.

I started photography wayback in 1998 but I still consider my self as a newbie who is still struggling to become a professional. I already invested on my camera system for almost P100,000 but I am still far away from those pros, I think.

But as my sister in law said talent cant even paid for a million. And I also believe that in every newbie’s thousand shots there will always be a good and perfect shot and that very shot can be even worth a million.

I will be backing up my sister in law’s professional wedding photographer in her upcoming wedding. Hopefully a little appreciation already means so much to me.
