The Filipino king of rap Francis M passed away just this 12:45pm today, March 6, 2009 at the Medical City in Ortigas.  Francis M or “Kiko” was diagnosed with leukemia last August, 2008. He was about to go for another chemotheraphy and was waiting for his bone marrow transplant when he died.

Kiko last posted in his “A Free Mind” blog last January 14, 2008 “Good evening people. I am getting prepared for my 4th Chemotherapy cycle, and I will be admitted tonight at The Medical City. I will be doing some tests tomorrow, wish me luck. Friday I begin my 4th cycle which is a Hi-Dose kind, as will be taking 6 grams of Cytarabin a day every other day for 3 days”‘. Supposedly, he would have a part in “Final Set” concert of Eraserheads tomorrow night in Mall of Asia Open grounds.

He was also asking people to pray for him on his last post which I quote: I look forward to the pain as I know my journey is on full speed ahead. I will not be bold to say that without asking a favor from you all. PLEASE PRAY for me as I undergo treatment. Your prayers, as always, have sustained me. And am sure  Yahweh* will listen to all our prayers. To His will I submit myself.”

Francis Magalona passed away today. He was a famous singer, rapper, composer, host and photographer. He had come up with various T shirt designs on the market as well. His popular songs include Mga Kababayan ko, Meron ako, Kaleidoscope World and many more.

For Kiko, our first Filipino rapper, may you rest in peace.
