f there’s anything I’m sure I can be proud of as a Filipino, it would be that Filipinos are among the most talented creatures on earth. Our talents are recognized all over the world and what’s inspiring is that we are recognized despite the fact that we are considered as a third world country. We can still compete with those who are in the world of rich and first world countries. The premise of this article is the recognition of Filipino talent. In all kinds of fields be it in singing, sports, fashion and most especially in service.
Not surprisingly, most of those who appeared on TV especially in shows in the U.S. have successfully established their names in the blueprint of fame. Not just in those unforgettable lines in one of American shows which made most of Filipinos known especially in the Medical field.
There might be instances that we Filipinos have sometimes forget about professional ethics. After all, we are human enough so isolated instances like the “Cebu Canister Scandal” might be bound to happen. But we must also remember that we are number one service providers especially in the field of medical services. We sent nurses, caregiver and domestic helpers in foreign countries especially in the U.S., London and in the Middle East. Those dedicated nurses, caregiver and domestic helpers shed their happiness to be with their family just to give or render medical and other service that most people overseas needed.
Aside from the unrelenting service of heroism our OFWs, we must also salute those who already made their name in various international competitions and also captured the hearts and recognitions of people from the foreign land. They are those who put our country Philippines in the map again and they include:
Charisse Pempengco – 17 years old singer who won local and international singing contests. Already guested twice in an American T.V. shows: first from Ellen Degeneres’ Show and Oprah Winfrey Show. She has made the audiences and the host of both shows do a standing ovation.
Sam Concepcion - Fifteen-year-old pop star and theater actor and the first Filipino chosen and to work with Dreamworks and United International Pictures (UIP) to sing the theme song of their newest animated comedy, Kung Fu Panda.
Madonna Decena – 32 years old singer who impressed audience and judges alike in the reality contest “Britain’s Got Talent (BGT).” One of the judges was the famous Simon Cowel of “American Idol’
Catherine Lingal or Kcat - nineteen-year-old Filipina currently gaining popularity in the United Kingdom . Her song entitled “My Destiny” is now in No. 10 hit in the British Charts.
Gian Dapul – 16 years old 4th year student of Philippines Science High school who won prestigious English Speaking Union(ESU) International public speaking contest in the United Kingdom.
Alan Pineda - apl.de.ap, a hip hop musician and member of the The Black Eyed Peas.
Arnel Pineda – From the local band ‘The Zoo’, he was discovered by Neal Schon, guitarist of the band Journey in youtube and now the lead singer of the well known band.
Manny Paquiao – Boxer and the new WBC junior lightweight champion and will attempt to be the first Asian to win four (4) championship belt in four different weight classes.
Charlie Green - Filipino-British child performer Charlie of the “Britain’s Got Talent”
They represent tha true and pure blooded Filipino talent that made us all proud. I’m sure there a lot more out there waiting for the right moment. Plus many more all over the world with Filipino blood that runs in their veins like those who made big names in Hollywood. That makes me proud to say ‘Philippines Got Talent’.

I just wanna add Lea Salomga to the list.
Congratulations to all the Filipinos.
we are truly talented.
We may not know we have that amazing talent
but sooner or later we’ll be able to discover it
and share it to every one…
Let’s not just keep that talent to ourselves.
Let that talent shine like a star and inspire many.
Conratulations again to everyone especially to Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion..
